Außerdem sollen die Jugendlichen mit Migrationshintergrund durch die Gespräche die Möglichkeit haben, ihre persönlichen Erfahrungen zum Thema Integration durch (Schul-)Sport zu äußern. Besonders durch diese intimen Einblicke in die Erfahrungswelt der Schüler, soll die Forschungsfrage beantwortet werden. Neben den Einstellungen und Erfahrungen sollen durch die Interviews auch Wünsche zum Vorschein kommen, die die Schüler mit Migrationshintergrund möglicherweise zu diesem Thema haben.
Ausgangspunkt für die Wahl qualitativer Forschungsmethoden conflict die Tatsache, dass bisherige Studien zum Thema Integration durch (Schul-)Sport qualitative Forschungsmethoden stark vernachlässigt haben. Dies zieht nach sich, dass Studien bisher einseitig aus der Perspektive der Mehrheitsgesellschaft durchgeführt wurden und daher die persönlichen Einstellungen und Ansichten von Jugendlichen mit Migrationshintergrund kaum berücksichtigt wurden. Der Grund dafür, dass in dieser Untersuchung ausschließlich männliche Jugendliche mit Migrationshintergrund im Zentrum der Betrachtung stehen, ergab sich aus meiner Annahme, dass die Integration von Jungen und Mädchen von unterschiedlichen Faktoren beeinflusst wird. Ein weiterer Grund dafür battle, dass hinsichtlich einer Integration durch (Schul-)Sport bisher ausschließlich Studien zu Mädchen und jungen Frauen mit Migrationshintergrund vorhanden sind. Männliche Jugendliche kamen zu diesem Thema bisher nicht zu Wort und wurden vernachlässigt.
